X-ray is an effective method of radiation diagnosis, which allows for a few seconds to get an image of the patient's internal organs. With a low radiation dose of an X-ray machine, this method of diagnosis does not cause significant harm to the patient's health. With the help of roentgenography, the abdominal cavity, urogenital system, pelvic organs, spine, joints, bones are diagnosed.

Roentgen of the abdominal cavity is prescribed in case of injuries, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, cholecystitis, flatulence, acute intestinal obstruction, diverticulitis, ischemia of the colon, appendicitis.

X-ray radiography of the urinary system allows to determine the presence of such diseases as chronic cystitis, stones, foreign bodies, cysts, diverticula, coral nephrolithiasis, emphysema pyelonephritis and others. Survey radiography of urinary tracts is mandatory before excretory urography, which allows you to evaluate the architecture, position, excretory function and urodynamics of the kidneys and urinary tract.

To obtain a clearer image in X-rays, contrast agents such as barium sulfate or iodine-containing radiocontrast preparations are administered to the patient.

It is recommended to drink 500 ml of liquid 30 minutes before the examination of the genitourinary system. Diagnosis of the abdominal cavity is carried out 7 hours after eating.
