Colcoscopy

The woman is endowed with the most beautiful gift of the continuation of the human race, but such a complex natural mechanism needs additional control. To diagnose the condition of the vagina, its walls, as well as the walls of the uterus, modern medicine uses colposcopy. This is a method of examining the condition of the internal genitalia, which can detect the appearance of erosion, polyps and cervical cancer.

From the usual gynecological examination procedure differs using devices with additional lighting, optical magnification and colposcope. This approach allows to detect even the most insignificant and inconspicuous defects of tissues, which can subsequently lead to serious pathologies, and prescribe appropriate treatment even before the onset of unpleasant symptoms.

It is recommended to undergo the procedure once a year for preventive purposes, but a number of symptoms are an indication for an unscheduled check: cervical erosion, menstrual cycle disorders, inflammation and bleeding, discharge, pain or discomfort in the abdomen, as well as other abnormalities diagnosed by the gynecologist.

The procedure is contraindicated during the menstrual cycle and the first days after its completion, in the first months after childbirth, any surgical interventions.

In the absence of inflammatory processes in the vagina or pelvic organs, as well as high pain threshold, the procedure is painless and does not cause discomfort. Otherwise, an anesthetic is needed, which is discussed with the doctor in advance.
